idler arm bushing

years ago it seems I remember Moog had a needle bearing that replaced the mushy stock idler arm bushing, any one else remember this? have a part number?

Yes, and it wasn't that long ago and I think it was used in 61-63 T-Birds as a "fix" for them as well.  Sorry, no part number in the files.....

looking in my 1973 moog parts book,the ball bearing type kit for 1954 to 1959 with power steering is moog part number K-256.hope this helps

Do they show one for manual steering?

moog says you need two of kit number K-251 for manual steering

There is a trick to installing a new arm.Now if I can just remember it. If installed wrong it will lock up in one direction or be to loose.You do have to find the  point for full stroke with the acme left and right hand thread and have it as close to full thread engagement.I had mine on and off a couple of times before I deemed it right.
