thunderbird special emblem

DOES ANY ONE HAVE A THUNDERBIRD SPECIAL EMBLEM ON THE GLOVE BOX DOOR. I HAVE SEEN THEM IN LITERASURE PICTURES, BUT CAN'T REMEMBERE EVER SEEING ONE ON A CAR. LOOKS A LOT LIKE THE 58 EMBLEM USED ON THE FIRST 332-352 CARS. THANKS TOM

They're pretty rare these days.  Only came on 1957 312 cars.  I know Randy Conner had a couple when I was at his place a few years ago.  At that time he wouldn't sell them. You can email him at RLCpartman@aol.com.  The 58 Interceptor emblems are easier to find.

I belive they were only put on the glove box of factory "E" and "F" cars.

I've seen them on single 4V 312 cars (D code) as well.  A friend of mine had one back in the day and I'm sure it wasn't a dual quad or blower car.

I think it was used on some early 312 4v cars.  I sold one on ebay a while back.   I have never noticed it on a supercharged or 2-4 car.  The supercharged cars were all later in the year, so they would have been too late to get the emblem.

I parted out a 57 custom 300 4dr. D-code with the emblem on the glove box, Im using it on my ranchero.

The '58 glove box emblem is different.  It says Interceptor instead of Special.  I believe it came on 352 cars.  It's a lot more common.
