FENDER MOUNTED ANTENNA

Hey guys, I am installing a modern stereo in my car and I have the factory mounted fender antenna.  The problem is, that it is broken. I figured I would just order another one and then I found out they were 70 bucks!  So for that kind of money I pondered installing an electric powered antenna.  Has anyone done this using the stock hole? Just wondering if it would look ok since there is a body line on the top of the fender?  Pics would be appreciated.

Seems to me with the stock hole we're stuck with the stock antenna.
You could always weld it up I guess. I prefer the stock unit myself.

can you modify the old top mount that fits on top of the fender to fit a other antenna.or maybe you can shape the upper mount off the new antenna to fit the fender
