Intakes

Have any of you guys had a Streetmaster 390 intake. If so, did the casting seem somewhat smooth. The 406 Aluminum intake I've got is pretty smooth and it looks like it was investment cast. The Streetmaster is OK but it is a little ruffer and looks like it was sand cast. Has anyone noticed this. The 406 intake was built in 1963 and I think the Streetmasters came out in the early 70's. Jim the Streetmaster I had on my Z code 63 1/2 was very nicely finished.  It looked like it had been bead blasted.  My 63 tri-power manifold (Galaxie) is much the same but has just a RCH more texture I think due to it having been sand blasted many years ago......
