Dash Ash Tray

Help -  It has been a while since I disassembed my dash and now I am having trouble remembering the correct assembly.  I have the dash ashtray that does not have the finger indention in the ash tray cover.  The cover has a slight curve at the bottom of the ash tray door.  When I re-assemble the ash tray door assembly into the dash the door will not stay up.  Am I missing something (return spring?).  Any help including a picture of the proper installation would be very much appreciated.
