door seals

hi all,    i'm painting my door jams,  putting in new rubber seals,   bought some stuff from Reillys,  didn't stick,   tried 3m,  didn't work,  used contact cement,  some sticks,  some dosen't,   anyone out there know of some good stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!that sticks?,  thanks   jerry

That's what I used...worked real well. It has to be applied to both the seal and the door (it's a contact adhesive). One tip that will save you some cleanup time...mask off your door with one line of tape on either side of where the adhesive goes...you have to work fast with this stuff, so the tape can let you go a little faster and be a little less careful. Pull the tape off as soon as you've got the adhesive on..before you place the seal.
Have fun closing your door..although being a convertible, it's got to be a whole lot easier than a sedan.
