57 ford custom four door rear window rubber seal.

I have been looking around but have not found a source for the small rear side window rubber seals for my 57 ford custom 4 door.  Not the rear roll up windows, but small stationary windows behind the  rear roll up windows.

My rubber is really bad.  Have all the roll up windows in great shape with new felts and all, but that small window rubber looks really bad.

Any help appreciated.

unless you can find a pair of NOS pieces the only thing you can do is try to get yours out and  take or send them to a place like soffseal and see if they make them for you or maybe they'd have something for a fiberglass body that would work

My guess is that there's not much demand for that particular window rubber, but there is always something that can be made to work. I'd find an old car glass guy and see if he has some universal use rubber that you can cut and fit to your car. Before I did that i would call Carpenters and/or Mac's if its out there to be had one of them will know. Good luck in your search.

I have the same body style, 73B, and have tried Mac's and Carpenter. Have had no luck finding them. There are a lot of Custom 300 4 doors out there. It seems funny no one makes them.

the reason no one makes them is because unfortinatly they are for a 4door .....

have you tried steele rubber parts? they have some obscure parts ...maybe they may have them

Steele does have bulk lengths of rubber in tons of profiles, find one that will work and cut and glue to fit. Its done all the time. No one makes rubber for cars that are chopped its just one of those jobs that need to be done. not difficult just takes time. And yes its the curse of owning a 4dr car.

Not a curse to me. I took my drivers test on my mother's 57 Ford Custom 300 4 dr that had a 312 T-Bird Special with automatic trans.. Had a carter carb that had it all over the holley carbs that came on most of them. I could wipe up a chevy in a drag raceall the time. Would spin and squeal the tires through all the gears. I love this 4DR.

CB, am glad you love your 4dr. Simple reality is that for most car guys they're as you so well explained "mom's car". I've owned a few myself great family cars. But the aftermarket that supports our hobby knows its customer base quite well. And builds to it. And when you find yourself left out its when the curse hits and often the cursing starts. Doesn't seem fair but then not much is.

Something that might work is to buy the rubber for the stationary custom series back windows. you'd have the 3 corners fairly close in shape, a cut to fit and glue job. Maybe not the cheapest or easiest way but a doable solution.

That rubber is just about the only thing I have had a hard time finding. Most everything else available for the 4 door. The rear outside door handles aren't available, but mine will pass, as I don't need a show car. Thanks for the tip on the 2 dr rubber. I will check them out and see how close the rear corners are to fitting. CB
