This was on another site a while ago. Just thought I would ask here. Has anyone named their cars? I seem to name most of them. But my 57 is named "Marilyn". But my wife calls her "the Bitch" because I like to spend time with her.

My wife and I call are 63 galaxie XL convertible "Baby". On Sunday night after having the car out all weekend I got up to go out and put the car in the garage that I rent from my nextstore neighbor, my wife ask where I was going, I said "I'm going to put baby to bed, the name stuck.

Thought about calling mine Heinze..us old timers will remember the original Heinze label on pickles and stuff was "Heinze 57"....well, maybe not the original label. I guess that probably didn't come until they had the 57 varieties. Other than in the back of my head the name just didn't stick..slid off the car like ketchup. The only names that have stuck...are you ready for these...they're really really clever...."The Car", and alternatly, "the 57"
The only cute names we seem to come up with are for our animals. One of our cats that had a litter shortly after we adopted her we called "Yo Mama". Whenever the kittens were looking for her to be fed, I'd ask them "where's yo mama?"..it just stuck. We named one of her kittens Peeve, just because everybody's got a pet peeve.
I can do this, I can do this, I, well, maybe

That makes 2 of us. After working 40+ yrs on them for a living you dont get too attached to them. Although I do take a little more time & patience on the 57 it still gets called a few names.

I can relate to the animal name thing, the cat was originally "Oreo" (yup, black and white) but everytime I came home from work (wife was still at work) I'd walk in and go "Putty Tat" as he came out to greet me....it stuck and he responds to it, not Oreo.

Cars are real original.... :003:.... the F150 is Truck", the Shelby is "Mustang", her 05 Bird is "Birdie", the 57 Ranchwagon is "Wagon", the 36 Chevy street rod is "36" and her under construction 65 Bird is "Big Bird".....the rest are just "hunks-o-junk".... :003:

I remember it well. Owned a 57 F-Code Fairlane cumberland green and white from 1965-1970. Named "Sleeping Turtle". Named by the original owner who frequented drag strips.

The 57 FI Chevys didn't like. The Turtle usually blew them away.
