A few crazy questions

1. Does all 2dr fairlane 500's have this trim piece that lifts up when door is open (see picture)?
2. Can they be rebuilt? (the springs are shot so they don't stay up when door opens)
3. Can they be removed if not all fairlanes have this piece?

Yes I will take some more pictures tonight. I have not seen any like that in any pictures of other fairlanes and that is why I asked.

RICH MUISE

I think they are a hardtop thing, the Fairlane sedans will not have them. Somebody a while back was questioning whether or not chevy ones could be addapted. I would think you need them to seal the top of the window.
I can do this, I can do this, I, well, maybe

Gotta be some springs for that somewhere.

Ah yes...the "flippers"....hard top cars and I think only 2drs.  57 and 8, don't know about the 9, if they are the same or not.  Saw somewhere that a fellow put new springs in his.  Old timers has struck, too many car mags in the reading room, just can't recall where I saw it!  Chevy flippers are close but just too far off to fit and work right.  But....the springs might just do the job...?
