I pulled apart my Horns on the 57 today.... seeing how bad they were.....Watched a few vids and they seemed to be quite easy to get working.
I watched this.... pretty neat,.. and the horns look very similar to my Hi/Lo Spartons that came with my car.....

Mine were filled with a bit of junk and dry rust(God Bess Texas!).... but to no avail... never even got a hum out of them.
In that vid. the fella points out a resister... but on mine.... it seems(looks like) there is no resister... unless its buried within.


Anyhow.... anybody here ever get theirs working?
Maybe I should just look for a good restored set and go with that....
.... but the little things make me happy.

You might try filing the contact points.  Also, is your horn relay in good condition?    I have seen Sparton lo and high horns on Ebay that are described as restored and working for less than $75.00.  I got lucky and got a good working pair that just needed a paint job on Ebay about 2 years ago for $45.00.

   Hey Jeff!  How`s it goin  eh ? Relax on the horn fix; move on to something else. I have a couple of real good sets and I only have room for one set behind my grill. I`ll just put your name on them and put them with the wheels. Better yet , why don`t you just buy one of those two black cars that are on ebay now and put an end to the restoration pain. Sometimes I think that would be the better way.    Cheers    Gary

hey Gary!..... ha ha your so right.....  that's awesome!...Yea... i wish I could buy those cars..... I have a very un-cooperative line of credit and too much tied up in parts.Hope all is well!....Give me a holler some time!
