Tremec installation advice

I got a PM today from a gentleman today about the Z-Bar I used on my Tremec installation. I thought I'd elaborate for everyone.
1.   I used a 66 Fairlane GT Fork and I used the original fork rod (adjustable ball on end). To long a clutch fork would reduce throw and too short an arm would cause interference with bell housing.
2.  I used my original Z-Bar and extended the end where the fork rod fastens by 2". I used another Z-Bar bought off Ebay because the temper of the Z-Bar was intimidating to me and I was assured correct fit also. Have it welded by competent welder.
3.  To enable my Z-Bar to remain in it's original position on the clutch pedal rod I cut the arm I just got through extending completely off the Z-Bar and rewelded it in a position that placed it further toward the front of the engine. Thus starting my engagement process farther forward and giving me better adjustment of the pedal.
4. For two years it seemed I still had trouble with small adjustments of pedal height. It seemed if I went too far one way the pedal would end up too far toward the floor. And, if I went too far the other way vice-versa would happen. Then I found out what was wrong. The heavy clutch pedal return spring underneath dash is at a specific point which screws up everything. Once I discarded the spring I could make small adjustments underneath the car to the fork rod and control my pedal height and point of engagement. That spring attach point didn't allow for different engines and transmissions. Jim
