Not quite sure where to place this under the tech section, but I thought this general discussion area might be a start.
I have a pedal assembly, came with the car in a box, but not quite sure on how it mounts under the dash,
I grabbed these images off the net, but I do not seem to have the large mount section.
I have the tech manuals, but i have not seen any diagrams yet on clearly how this works in the car itself.

Anybody have any pics?

thanks in advance.

Jeff

I have my pedal cluster here but not the car but here is my recollection. The four bolt mounting surface on the front of the cluster share the mount with the master cylinder with the bolts going through the master mounting fingers and screwing into the four caged nuts on the cluster. Once that is done swing the rear portion up and it will land right where the other bolts go.

definitely a Ford clutch pedal setup but not a '57!

Jeff, not sure, but I think that clutch pedal setup is from a 59.  The lower portion is the same, but the upper bracket looks different.  Here is a photo of the pedals from my 57 Custom...

The reason the upper bracket is different is that the 59 had a completely different cowl configuration.  The wipers and drives are different from 58,  the dash is different, etc.  The basic support bracket will work in your 57, but you will need the upper bracket off your automatic pedal setup to bolt to the upper cowl of your car, then you will need the eye stud for the upper portion of the return spring to attach to.  The hole is already there on the upper bracket, you just need the eye.  Better solution, just put the pedals, complete, into your support bracket and add the eye bolt and return spring.  It's easy, I have converted two or three auto pedal setups using 60-61 pedals, no sweat.

You need to get in touch with Gary and get that setup from him if he is willing to part with it.
The stuff in your picture ain't what you need.  As previously stated that's for another Ford, but not a 57.

If you have an automatic pedal hanging in the car now, odds are those pedals will fit the existing support.  Pedal design did not change for years.  I've swapped pedals in models that were 20 years different.  Bushings are often worn in a clutch setup but the automatic pedal bushings will work and if not, new ones are available.  If all else fails, I'll just move this one over to your pile.
