I'll be keeping an eye on those. Thanks for the heads up. They're in above average shape, but still some pitting. I wonder how much it would cost to have them restored.

Rich.......I have a pair of Yankee mirrors that I really want to use, I called Alberta Plating and they said since the base and halo are cast I should expect to pay $125.00 per piece. 4 pieces @ 125 per. comes out to $500.00 for the pair. Turns out that the N.O.S. sets the guy was selling on E-Bay a couple years ago for $420.00 per set, to which I said " That'll be the day", were actually on sale. By the way mine have been boxed up ready to ship for the last two years but haven't been able to muster the nerve to send them. Probably cast half again as much as when I got the est.

Yep, I'm with you..just too darn much money for a couple mirrors. Also the mirrors that Bill posted for me (Thanks again, Bill) are nos, but are pitted anyways, so how long would they be acceptable?...not too long I would think.
Additionally, as much as I like the Yankee mirrors, I'm not sure if I'm going to fender mount them or door mount, and it doesn't look like the dual base would allow for a door mount. I had always figured when I got whatever I ended up getting, I'd just see where they looked best.

I door mounted some standard round mirrors on my car and the passenger side is useless. can't get near enough adjustment to see down the side of the car. Also a few years ago, Dennis carpenter offered some new outside door handles that were seconds. I bought a pair for future use. When I got them they really looked good with just a couple of pits that wouldn't show. They have been in the original boxes on the shelf all this time. I opened them the other day and they are completely useless. apparently that pitting is a bit like cancer, over time it just keeps growing.
