Heater Box?

Ford Blue blood

RonA about two years ago I sold a complete factory A/C system minus the condenser for almost twice the cost of the car, it was an offer that I just could not turn down.  Parts are rare, the evaporator/heater box is usually well beaten up, the flex hose from the blower to the opening in the kick panel is difficult to find.  Jerry's can provide all the soft goods but you will have to scrounge for anything hard.

As Ron says go with the factory heater and use an aftermarket under dash A/C system.

Thanks Bill and Ron. Will definately look into that. I certainly don't need an AC up here in Alberta.

Which part on the diagram do you need, I might have one.

57Chero - Although this is a different schematic than the one you saw earlier but I'll ask anyway, just in case. The piece I'm looking for on this new schematic is part #19828 (the lower inside cover). From what Ron and Bill are saying they are pretty rare.

Thanks

Ron

You should get in touch with Randy Connor on our site.  He has a  lot of 57 Fords that he parts out.    Explain to him what you have.  Jay

Hey Mr. Jay. Do you know what handle Randy Connor goes by? I tried searching his name on the site but came up empty.
Thanks in advance.

OK Thanks. I'll be able to get to my car in a couple days so I can get a clearer picture of what I'm dealing with as far as either going back to a stock heater and/or pulling the whole A/C unit. Thanks again for your help fellas.

In 30 yrs of hunting NOS 57 parts i've only seen one 19828 for sale new or used. (been to Carlisle over 100 times).
The only way to get one is search old junkyards in the Texas, Az, Nm area (most of the a/c cars were sold in the SW).
Remember Ford only started selling A/C in 1955 so they are rare.
If you decide to keep the A/C there is a co. in NY that will recore your heater core and Dennis Carpenter sells every soft part except the air hose from the blower to the evap.
Weatherhead makes bulk hose that looks correct also.
Goodluck,
Ron.
