Anybody removed padded visors from the rods?
Like to replace the brackets w/o ruining the visors.

Yes, they just pull off.  Pretty tight fit so it will require a little efort.

Is there a tube inside the visor?

Kinda, the metal is folded over and riveted to the cardboard core, looks like a number nine when viewed from one end.  Do not use any lube to get them off.  They will not stay up later....don't ask me how I know this....

Retrac visors have their own special ways to flop LOL.
Guessing oil would really add to the party.......
