Will the factory power brake stuff fit on a manual transmission car?

I have one of those pedal pads on my car. They are like finding the passenger side original seat belt brackets for the drivers side. If spending too much money for them is a problem, just forget about them and be happy with what you got. I wish I had. lol

Can I use the non-power pad/pedal?

The answer to your question is yes.   The under dash Swift Sure Power brake unit will fit your standard shift car.   Like others have stated the original standard shift pedal is very difficult to find but the plain rubber one that you  have will work fine.
I hope that you have the steering wheel off of your car and that you are skinny like me.  If not you will have to remove the front seat also.
You should also get a copy of the installation and illustrations from an original 57-58 shop manual.  There are two adjustments on it that are very daunting both when you read it and when doing the actual installation.  James Potter's father Phillip was very gracious and helped me with pieces and parts that I was missing.
I struggled with starting  that project for almost a year before I actually got into doing it because of the cramped space with the seat in the car. .   If you happen to have your dash out of the car, It will be a walk in the park.  First time out,  I almost hit myself against the steering wheel when stopping.
It's funny that you posted this question because I just finished mine about two weeks ago.   Jay

I found a set of those seat belt brackets in a 57 that I bought last year and didn't know what I had until I posted a picture of them on this site.   That's when I found out that they were original.

I'm sorry that I hijacked your thread.

Jay, hang on to them. I paid $50 for the passenger side and $360 for the drivers side. That's what the bidding went up to. I know it's a waste of money but you have to make a decision if you really want them or not. I really wanted my interior to be stock appearing. Jim

Putting those brackets in my 57 is on my to do list for this summer.   They aren't doing me any good sitting in the trunk.

Lynn
Do you have a 1957 shop manual so you can read up on the Swift Sure unit?

Yes, I do have a shop manual. I will read up on the Swift Sure stuff today. Thanks for the info.
