A few years ago, I had my car in a car show.  I needed an information board for it and created something from information I found on the internet.  If anyone else has use for it, great.  I emailed it to Office Depot and they printed it for me in color on 24" x 36" paper and I put that in a poster frame.  To look at it, you might think that the only color the cars came in was red/white.  That's because that is the color of my car and when I selected old advertisements to use, I only considered using red/white cars.  If anyone wants the original file that I used to create this, it is a Microsoft Publisher file.  You would need that program to make modifications.

If you want to have it printed, download the .pdf file.

Thanks for posting that, Rich. You did a great job on the layout...looks profesional. Years ago I use to do alot of stuff on Pagemaker 5 ...a professional layout/publishing program you could do some fantastic stuff with. It was more of a playtime thing for me, but did stuff like business cards, newspaper ads for my store, etc. I also had an 18" wide carriage Epson printer. I don't even know if that program I paid 600 for back in the 90's would even load on today's operating systems.

Rich,

Thanks for the comments.  The majority of the text that I used was from a period review of the car and some advertisements from Ford.  This kind of stuff is all over the internet.

A big printer would be cool to have, but I have so little need for one that using the office product store's service is just fine.  I think I paid about $20 for a quality color print.  I've made similar layouts for cars that friends of mine have asked for.  I've had plenty of practice with Microsoft Publisher and, like many things, it's easy to use once you know how.

I've been wondering, do you have a completion date for your car?  You must be getting close by now.

Sorry for the late reply, I just saw this. "Completion date" along way off, if ever, but a drivable date should be within a few weeks. I've just got to finish up some brake line work to the rear discs, bleed the system, and get the e-brake working, and install the front shocks. Once that is done, weather permitting, I can drive it to the exhaust shop and get that finished. Then it's drive drive drive checking things out, looking for problems in the different sysytems, etc.
I'm still a long way from actually completing the car, but after the above mentioned stuff, it's all things that can wait for better weather.

Forgot...just a head's up, Rich....the Tri-five swap meet is coming up in Denver in about 6 weeks. Not sure if I'll be going, I'll know closer to that date.

Rich,

Being able to drive the car has got to be a big milestone.

As to the swap meet, yes, lets try to hook up this time.  Last year I thought I was going to get close in parking, but they kept flagging me down the road, it must have been 1/2 a mile.

This weather is setting things back at least a week or two, can't hope for early January any more on being able to drive the car under normal conditions.
I won't know until around the first of Feb. if I'll be trying to make the tri-state swap, then if I can, it'll depend on the weather. Driving conditions-wise, I've got the Sunflower swap meet in Witchita, Ks. as an option the same weekend. One thing I know, given the time of the year, the distance, and the early stages of driveability on the '57, I'll be taking the Outback...it loves the snow.
