radio converted to am/fm

hi,  maybe someone knows whats happening,     had radio converted to am/fm,  with orig antenna i get all am and fm stations, but when i install a electric antenna i get no am and few fm stations,  everything is grounded like it should be,  am i missisng something?,  thanks   jerry

Sounds like you have a broken or unconnected wire inside the antenna and the cable is acting as the antenna.
