... of a Ford dealership. Lots of 57 Fords in it.

Marc

That really is a cool pic.

The ad in the background "When you think of Ford think of Bacon". Funny stuff.

Palm trees in the background also....southern California?

I remember when used car lots looked like that.
Thank you very much for making my day.

Hey Thor, thanks for posting. That's a really neat pic.
Good to see you posting again, haven't heard from you in a while. How's things in Kansas? Did you ever put that 4.6 plastic block/tranny mock up to use?
I moved to another part of Amarillo if your ever down this way again.
Rich
I can do this, I can do this, I, well, maybe

WOW great pictured, and as the icing on the cake there is a rare 54 coupe front and center.

About 60 owners had no idea of what they were doing when they traded in their (nearly) brandnew 57 Fords ! I wonder how much they lost over the initial purchase price.

Rich,

Guys:

A good friend of mine, Chuck Penny, worked at Les Bacon Ford in Hermosa Beach back in '57 until about '63.  He was their tune-up mechanic.  He built a 332 ci Y-block and put it into his Shiada wood hull speed boat. That sucker turned over 90 mph in the quarter at the boat drags in Long Beach Marine Stadium. I believe Les Bacon Ford was on the corner of Pacific Coast Highway and Hermosa Avenue.  In the early 60's, I used to visit him after school when I was a teenager.  Many good times.

I love old pictures like this, but have you ever noticed there's nearly always a VW Beetle in the background?
