for those overheating blues check this out

 :deadhorse:alum radiator didnt fix my blues,got tired of overheating an not knowing the answer,jim says head gaskets wrong or blown,or cracked head,guess what ? pulled the motor an pulled the heads wrong freaking headgaskets an one was up side down an other was wrong side up,they are marked but the gearhead that put them on ? well lets say he couldnt read the instructions marked on the block,sound famailar ?? so if this is ur prob an u just did a motor this might be ur clue,good news is i walked across the street an bought a fresh as in new rebuilt 351 cleveland with fresh valves 2bbl heads all the ac an powersteering brkts turn key completed an fresh $400 bucks,across the street !!!!! im living right is all i can say.new radiator, fan shroud, fan, motor, clutch, pp, flywheel, throwout bearing an a rebuilt toploader with a super stock hurst shifter.just keep throwing money at it.better make me happy is all i can say.if theres a next time i will make a fordalliac out of it with a 500 caddy.this car has been a lesson to me,i buy lots of cars but the next i buy for me an go long distance for will run till its warmed an hot long enough to check it out plus my snap on detector for exhaust emissions in the water an drive the car personally till im satisfied is kosher.still got a fair deal even with the work but work in texas summer is not my forte anymore.best of luck from bogey in downtown cowtown   stay in the shade is hot in texas.

 i've built several 500 caddy projects over the years , one in a 56 studabaker hawk and anotherin my 76chevy 1/2 ton. ya gotta love big cube motors that have nuttin but low ent torque.

I totally agree. Hell in the 60's I put a 365 Cad in a 55 Nomad. What a nice family
wagon!
