I live in Cal. and can't seem to find an aluminum or fiberglass cover for my 57 ranchero bed. Does any one have any information? New kid on the block and glad to be here!

I don't know of anybody at this time. Mine have always been at an ulpostery shop
out of conv. top material and snapped down. (not in the stainless trim}

Thanks for the info. I do not want to use the snap type cover. I 'm trying to keep from covering the chrome trim. I want a cover that will fit inside the trim versus covering it.

I looked into this when I started my Ranchero project. I wanted a hard cover that didn't hide the polished trim. There is a place up in my neck of the woods (near toronto, canada) that can do custom covers. I spoke with them at length and I was impressed, they would basically adapt their design for the early chevy and ford pickup truck covers - an inset, flush steel tonneau with hidden drip rails, power lift supports etc. whatever you want - very slick and clean looking, and pretty expensive. They were even confident in building a hinge system and rounded rear corners that wouldn't leak water. I saw an installation a few years back on a chevy PU and was impressed with the quality.

The name is 'Pro's Pick'. It may not be much help because of the distance but there must be someone in Cali who could do something similar.

Thank you for the information. I contacted them by phone and they had an employee with a 57 ranchero who recently sold it. They were going to contact the new owner ,get some measurements and see if they could build a cover for me.Good information and thanks again! :001:

I started with a long bed chevy cover then  i measured what the  cover an tried to  cut the  end off closes to the cab so I would have the rounded part for the back. and the key locks. then I section the middle out. took  a foot an a half of the honeycomb filling off each side. then i used fiber board to fill in  between the 2 section an poured fiber glass resin in an then fiberglassed the inside an  out side.  then measure the out side corners = trimed an reglassed them to match the bed corners, It takes a few days an you will need help liftin  it from when you get it to when you finish they are heavy lol . hope this helps
