I don't know why nobody has chimed in. A lot of folks run the elect. fans. I Have used them with
no problems. I just don't care for the noise or current draw. I don't want my Ford sounding like an airplane :003:
I prefer solid fans if you have the room. Just my opinion. Better yet a clutch fan, but I don't have space.

I use one for a back up to the 4 blade steel. Never had to use it yet like Ron I don't like the noise, sounds like you are winding up a rubber band.

I'm currently running electric fans, but only because I couldn't keep my 351 below H when idling in traffic on a 70 degree day.  I ultimately went to an aluminum radiator, with a double electric fan setup and no engine driven fan.  While the fans are on it does kind of sound like a 747, but the temperature on the engine cycles between 175 & 195 regardless of the outside temperature or if I'm stuck in traffic.  They do work.  I'm not sure of the brand since they cam with the radiator.  Pictures below.

I run a 5 blade fan on my 302 that works good but installed an electric fan as a back-up for parades & etc, I run a 165 termo. & have the fan kick in at 200 degrees, fine combonation: :icon_bigsmurf: :unitedstates:

john2000,  I'm in SoCal where temp runs 95 to 112 degrees in summer, have a modified 272 c.i.(cam,carb,alum.manifold,headers,elect.ign., etc.),running a 18" elect. puller fan with a 165 thermostat and a 4 core copper radiator only,no stock 5 blade(needed room). I've ran it both ways-- 1. using a adjustable temp sensors so I could select when it came on (summer/winter) or 2. I installed a switch below the dash to turn it on when ever I wanted to(slow traffic or at 195 degrees). The only time I hear it running is when  I'm parking after cruisin' and it comes on, I just pop the hood to get air to it and a couple of minutes it stops (tunes to loud?or FlowMasters flowin'). I've seen 57Agin's setup and it's a nice system,he's all over Orange County so he's doin something right! So there you go,hope this helps.  KID
