Guys,
Gotta tell you about this company I found on Ebay. It's called Mobile Air Parts, and they've got an Ebay store. I needed a specific Ogura compresser clutch that the Ogura company hasn't made for 20 years. This clutch was needed to keep my fan blade from hitting it. It's real thin. The guy I talked to ( C J ), claimed he could find me one. A week later I was holding it in my hand. If you're planning to use an older air conditioning system, give them a look for parts.
When you use older air conditioning systems you have to realize that some of the parts are no longer made. I got my condenser, coil, all brackets and Tecumseh compressor from a dealer installed unit on a 1965 Galaxie. I was lucky that the condenser, fan, and coil were still OK. The Tecumseh compressor was thrown away and I installed a new York unit. The problem came when I needed to install a fan blade on my 390 engine. The smallest clutch they made was too big and stuck out too far.
For the money I've gone through getting my air conditioning to work, I'd have done better getting one from Vintage Air. Also, I bet the new units aren't as noisey. Jim

you bet! Having worked on a/c most of my life, there is a large step up to modern systems. If you go 134a then you need modern condensor/ comp.  Old valving systems should be replaced with c.c.o.t [clutch cycling orfice tube] systems. Also the old hose is not even close. good luck
