I just bought a complete 1958 steering box and manual shift column to eventually install in my 1957 custom.  I want to continue to use my stock 1957 Custom steering wheel with all of this.  I know that the horn wire runs on the outside of the column with the 1958 stuff.  I've read on here that there is a way to possibly make the horn work with this column with the 57 wheel but no one described how to do this.  Can someone tell me what needs to be done?  Also, I just want to verify are the splines the same on the '58 shaft and the '57 wheel?  Thanks

Jody.....There is a thread on here somewhere detailing this.... I use my 57 wheel on a 58 column.. Jay showed me how... small jeweller file and I matched the splines.

One way to make the horn wire work is to use a '59 steering wheel, a '59 turn signal switch, and horn contact "button".

I can provide pics and details if you'd like. I spent a HUGE amount of time researching this. Lots of details in here somewhere.

Like Jeff stated,  it only takes less than 15 minutes of work to make your steering wheel fit.  It takes more time to find a small fine file.
