rear window regulators 2 dr hard top

On a 63a 2 dr. hard top rear quarter window regulator ( stripped shaft )can it be removed to without pulling the window by removing the 6 bolts on the  regulator and sliding out the roller through the large hole on the bottom  of the track?  Need to find some used regulator shaft parts none are available I've looked not even a repair kit. I guess any window regulator parts will work (1957,58,)?  Can it be done ?
