It's nice to see members that are no longer with us still on the B-day list. Guys like Shopratwoody, I never met him but talked to him a few times he was a great guy to visit with.  One of those guys you wouldn't know if you saw him but liked to visit about 57's, and drag racing. I'm not sure if it is still on, but he posted some pictures of a 57 Fairlane 500 that his dad had bought in I think 1958. It was red and white and kind of a different look because of the way it was customized.

RICH MUISE

They are still listed even though we have lost them because if they were deleted from the forum all their posts would be lost. Lots of guys I miss who have passed away, Shoprat, Zappato, father and son members Tim and Tom, and a bunch we may never know why they no longer post. For certain, with my bad memory, some I have forgotten.
For me, this forum and some of the late members have been a reminder that we can get along even though we may have different ethnic backgrounds or come from different cultures, and not only get along but truly see eye to eye on many aspects of life. I guess the same could be said for the car hobby social aspect in general.
I can do this, I can do this, I, well, maybe

Car people for the most part are more mentally well tuned than others, because they realize we must all work together to keep our hobby alive. Being petty just is more work really than stuffing a big engine into a small compartment. And just not worth the time. And at my age...I just HATE unnecessary work!!!

Seriously, when was the last time you posted on the HAMB?

All kidding aside, this is hands down, the most friendliest and welcoming forum I have ever been on, and I owned one and moderated a few.

When I was fourteen years old, I was amazed at how unintelligent my father was. By the time I turned twenty-one, I was astounded at how much he had learned in the last seven years!

Ah yes...I remember that incident. Guess there are exceptions.

And you're right. But then...goes to the quality of the people who have been here a long time. I suspect that anyone who might be a potentially unpleasant sort sees how everyone is...and just moves on.   :occasion14:
