I know this subject has been written up till its dead, but I cant seem to read the right answers.  I'm building a 57 ranchero,  and I want to put in an American made manual rack and pinion.  I've read a few people talking about cavalier because it's a rear steer setup but no one has come up with a year and model  for manual.  I don't really care if it's chevy Pontiac olds or ford.  I just need hear some positive info.

Cavalier rack was chosen because it was one of the few OE racks with center steer.  Most rack are end steer.  There are some aftermarket center steer, manual racks.  Sweet, Appletree, Strange, Flaming River, Unisteer.  I have a narrowed Flaming River manual on one of my cars for Mustang II type front end.  If you want manual, connect a hose from one end to the other and fluid will equalize.

No OEM manual rack for this application.  It would have to be a specialty supplier.

TURNONE Steering took one of these racks and modified it to reduce the turning circle.  I would assume if they can to that, modifying a PS to MS would be within their expertise.   Link to their website:
