Might be a 58 with 57 front fenders?????????????

Looks around the same color as mine, New Holland blue or fleet blue. Also resembles Grabber blue.

I like that! Also noticed that the exterior door handles are different.

Great looking ride, Les. Your friend wouldn't have the name of Jon or wife Sue? Jon that use to own the bike shop near the Olympic training center had a project Ranchwagon. Haven't seen him for 5 or 6 years.
I can do this, I can do this, I, well, maybe

Its seems weird to see a rear hinged hood on a '57 Ford. Cool wagon though!!

Looks like 56 Customline side trim on it.

Rich, I know of who you speak, this is not him. The rear trim is from a 56 something. If I recall, the door handles are off a 56 T-bird.

I dont think it started as a 58.
a 58 wgn has 7 ( I think) ribs in the rear roof area, while this wagon has only 5 trim strips, that may or may not cover any 58 ribs. Maybe he filled the ribs or replaced it with a 57 roof portion, but that would be a lot of work.
That appears to be a customized 57 Fairlane rear emblem. Loving the Del Rio script, which actually never made it on any real Del Rio wagons. They only carried the Ranch Wagon script.

Pretty cool wagon, although personally, I love the rearward opening hood on 57 thru 59 Fords. It`s a late 50s Ford trademark, and many people that look at my 59 at car meets comment at the unusual (to them) item that the hood opening from the rear is. Other than Corvettes and Chevy Vegas, not many other North American cars have hood like that.
1959 Meteor 2 door sedan , 428 Cobra Jet 4 speed. Been drag racing Fords (mostly FEs) 47 years and counting.
Previous 50s Fords include 57 Custom 4 door, 2 57 Ford Sedan Deliveries, 59  Country Sedan, and as a 9 year old, fell in love with the family 58 2 door Ranch Wagon.

I'll add to the list of rearward opening hoods........'63 &'64 Studebaker Avanti's. I've owned my '63 for 50 years.

I like the look of the car, I enjoy the different ways people Hot Rod cars, but I love the Security System (Large Chain)

It is a 57. Ribs are added as decorative only.
