Can anyone here on the Forum give me the approximate curb weight of a '57 Ranchero with a V8 and automatic transmission?
The number need not be spot on,I realize there are multiple variants that would change the number up or down.
Thanks
John

My Courier with 352/toploader 4-speed and a full tank of gas and my 165 pound self in the car came in at about 4000 pounds.
I would say your Ranchero should be around 3200-3400. Just ballparking it.

My Sedan Delivery was virtually the same, with a 360 FE and C6, manual steering and brakes, and no driver, was just under 3900 pounds. And my 59 base model 2 door sedan, with a 428 FE with aluminum intake and water pump, with a Toploader 4 speed, manual steering and brakes, no carpeting , and 1/2 tank of gas, with no driver, was 3765 pounds. Both were heavier than I was expecting (and hoping!). I would be surprised if a V8 Ranchero was below 3600 pounds.

My '57 Custom Sedan weights 3,840lbs.   It has 312 Y-Block, Factory VR57 Supercharger Setup, Tremec 5 spd, AC, Stereo, Spare Tire, Jack, 4wheel disc brakes, Aluminum Drive Shaft, Nodular 3rd member with Detroit Locker and 31 Spline Axles.

They all seem to be much heavier than the factory listed shipping weights.

FYI...when I had mine weighed it was across the scales at a truck weigh station run by the WA state patrol. A buddy at the time was running it.

John you going to have it ready for the Nats this year?  If so, I'm sure you know, UPS has scales there.  Did my 36 2 dr sdn years ago, 351C/FMX/8"/MII.  Come in at 3250.  The Ranchero drives and feels heavier.

Bill, only in my dreams will the Ranchero be ready for the Street Rod Nationals this year. My wife and I have been traveling a lot lately, and that slows things down a lot. I think next year is realistic.........I hope.

I understand John!  Getting ready to hit the road again myself.  Some how I thought retirement would allow more "car time"........

My custom weighs 3480. BBF, c6, 1/2 tank of gas. Could deduct  maybe 40 pounds from that with the  Center line wheels versus the steelies.

My Custom, FE, Toploader, 1/2 tank weighed 3510. I since have added the A/C & PS.  My Fairlane, 4 door, T10, 3750.

just for comparison. my Country Sedan, 292Y/3spd Fordomatic. has lots of glass which is heavy. Empty tank, no driver.

Mine does have aluminum heads, intake, water pump, carburetor, radiator. It also has no radio , heater or clock. I'm surprised it's as light as it is for a full framed car.

The aluminum heads probably peeled off a 100 pounds alone! Those suckers are heavy!
