B7A-16254-S 57-58 There are no instructions or useful material on their website. These look nothing like the old ones I removed, which were not even in the same places or similar profiles. Are there actually 2 different sets of weatherstrip for these? Anyone already done this? They go on the outside or inside on bottoms of inner fenders? I went through entire DC 1957 Ford inventory and these are the only ones listed. But mine had a real narrow weatherstrip all across the top rear and down the outer side all the way down. Plus a shorter one on the lower front section of inner fender. Appeared to be factory.
Thanks, Mike

The original splash shields were flat pieces of rubber that mounted on the inside of the inner fenders at the bottom. They were attached with large metal piercing staples. They keep water from splashing on the engine from the space between the frame and the inner fenders.

Thanks for replies. Pics saved to my 57 Ford photo album. I did find the narrow pieces at Steele Rubber last night as well as some rigid window channel I also need. Expensive, but you do what you gotta do.

Notice there are only 2 pieces shown in the diagrams, but DC or Steele kit has 4 pieces on fenderwell to frame kit. Longer, thinner pieces from the upper rear piece between fender and inner fender are sold as 6 ft lengths that you presumably cut to length. All were held on both locations with those nasty staples. On my 68 Torino I was able to use the existing staple holes with new staples bent with hand tools. Time-consuming but it worked.

I gave up trying to use the staples. I purchased a spool of stainless steel wire and a pair of safety wire pliers from Harbor Freight. I lined up the seal with the existing holes and used a drill to make the hole in the rubber seal. I then fed the wire from the outside thru to the inside and back out. The pliers make a nice tight twist that no one will see. The first wire on each seal was the hardest, but once that was done the seal would not move around. Hope this helps.

i used the existing random holes, drilled to I believe 1/16 and made staples out of welding rod, the hard staples you get just can't be bent over properly.

Well I am part way there. The 4 piece DC kit is for both sides,so of course I bought 2 of them... longer thin material from Steele that goes on top is on (piece at far left), fat DC piece (either far right items pictured) that goes on lower front is on, DC thinner piece pictured at top center is on trailing edge of descending shape, DC thinner shorter piece is for the same spot on the other fenderwell.

But I have not yet determined where the thin shorter piece (2nd from left) is supposed to go. Will go find it and see where it matches fenderwell contour. I have a half dozen inner fenderwells outside in the snow and from what remains of splash guards on those and pics sent in replies, I have made some progress. Not enough of those hardened staples, so will rob them from 2nd DC kit.

They are tough staples, but I am able to get them started bending the right direction with a needle nose pliers and then use welding C clamps to get them bent the rest of the way. 1/16" drill bit used in existing holes that were filled with paint. Appears it would be a more formidable task to try to install these with the fenderwells still on the car.

Found the mystery piece, but shape and length does not seem to match up with either fenderwell. Trailing lower rear edge is about the same length, but that edge has no factory staple holes, so idt it went there..

Anyone got a guess where that one goes?

I just did this on the inner fenders on my 57 Country Sedan.  I have to go to my shop tomorrow to ship a part I sold.  I will take some photos.  What I did was use SS welding rod and drilled the holes out and fashioned new staples from the rod and used those.  it is not easy and the staples do not look like the ones installed by the factory, but the rubber in on the parts and you don't really see them anyway.  Photos tomorrow!
