installing a fuel cell, was going to use the orginal float till i screwed it up. thinking about after market unit. my question is ,what is the resisdents i need to make the gauge work right? thanks

Nick,
   Off the top of my head I'm going to say 120 ohms. That should give you empty. I forget what full is. It'll be lower. Don't short out the wires either. Best I remember there has to be some resistance in line. Remember, you got to power it up through the vibrator on the dash. You can't get it to work just by putting 12 volts to it. Jim

Im pretty sure its 70-10.  The universal senders are junk, I've had 2different ones and they lie....stay wit the ford 70-10 vs the 240-0 deals.

Nick, I just went back and looked, I posted this question in 2008. The popular opinion was 10- 70 ohms, I put a fuel cell in my 57 and that's what I used. The car sits alone in the corner unfinished while I wrench on the shiny new 58, Mark
