My new ride

Well...Actually is not new and I shouldn't call it a ride because it sort of does not run, and  it's a little bit all apart.  I can't even call it a barn find because I found it in a hangar.  Truth of the matter is that most barn finds today are actually garage finds.  This is the one I was talking about in an earlier post.  I got the body and frame home today and it's in my garage parked with my custom.
The good thing is that I don't have to replace any of the outer lower panels on the body and most of the missing parts that didn't come with it are already in my spare parts collection.
Now that it is home I'm going to try to get a title for it.  We'll see what happens.

Oh man...

You guys who can tackle a project like this are incredible!

Nice hot rod platform.

Jay, I love those 2 dr wagons. Sounds like Mass. is tough to get titles issued for old cars? even for a retired registry officer?. That's nice and solid looking...great find.

If you can't get title, PM me.

WOW!!!!!!
Gary thank you very much for that kind suggestion.
Even though I am a former uniformed registry police officer and branch office supervisor, it cuts no ice here in Mass.

LOL..Jay, I hope you didn't take my remark to mean you could cheat the system if you knew someone..not that that doesn't happen...but in our case I was refering to the heads-up you'd have on knowing the requirements, rules, etc., and how much harder and frustrating it would be for someone doing the same thing just going in cold.

That's kinda funny, when I first saw the top image I thought you had bought yourself a floatplane. :003:

Jay, that sure is a great find! It can't be from New England! Lol   Tim

Tim..It's a California car. that would account for the lower panels having no rot.  No snow over there.

Randy...  I was kinda ambiguous in my opening statement about my new ride and probably misled you.

Tom S.....You have  been quiet.  Where have you been?  I couldn't snag the plane because the guy driving the truck and car trailer was the minister of my church.   (No kidding)  That would make  me lose my no pay job as head  usher.

Rich... I was not thinking that at all and no offense taken.   They have a new system now since I left the job..  With private sales, we get taxed on the book value of a driving "show car" no matter what condition the car is in.  They will not look at the car and will not look at pictures and will not have a Registry Inspector/ Trooper look at it.  They will also not accept an appraisal from a Massachusetts licensed appraiser who took a Mass state exam to get the license.  In the eyes of Mass.  that car is a restored or original show car in pristine condition and that is what they tax us for before we can get a title.

Zap  I feel the same as you do.  I think its that little line across the roof near the B post  that is only on a 2 door and breaks up the long roof and gives it an appealing look.

Oh by the way,....Did anyone happen to notice that it is sagging at the right front?   That's because someone forgot to put the coil spring back in after servicing and painting the upper right control arm.  I found the missing front spring on the floor of the car under some stuff.  I'll be putting it back in soon.
It seems like the only major parts that are missing are the gas tank,  engine / transmission and the front seat.
The rest of the small  parts with nuts and bolts are tagged and bagged.
Experience has taught me that no matter how careful you are, there will always be parts missing when putting them back together after they are taken apart this much.
