A nice Saturday morning drive

The wife and I took a little drive two towns over to go to their car show that is held every Saturday morning. This was my first time there and there was about 50 cars. I was looking to catch a guy who runs around locally with a black custom 300 but he wasn't there. After looking at all the cars we continued to another location that the wife wanted to go and when we parked I decided to try to lock the doors for the first time only to discover the locks are in upside down  :003:, it never ends, another thing to add to the list. The wife wanted to take a picture and insisted I be in it, something I usually try to avoid  :003:

Jim -nice to see you enjoying your Ranchero.  I took mine on a 100 mile trip today when it was about 85 degrees (freeway driving).  The car ran cool and the A/C worked great.

Thanks guys, as much as I enjoy working on it, it was nice to spend some time with the steering wheel in hand rather then a wrench.

Bill, that air must be nice on these warm days that will soon be getting warmer. I put a Vintage Air system in my '60 panel years ago but I doubt I'll ever get one in the Ranchero.

Now that's a great pic! Ranchero looks awesome. I for one like seeing a face and a name tied to a forumn "handle".....wish more of the guys would do it. I just got back last night from a car show also...only mine was two states over rather than 2 towns...and unfortunatly not in my '57. I met Al (57dohc) at the NSRA show in Pueblo, Co. I carried my camera around for 5 hours and hardly took any pics!

Now that I think about it Rich, it is nice to see a face and name. At one time another forum for one of my hobbies had a section for members to post their picture, it started out great but then seemed to fade away. I've only met one member here, BWhitmore, and a fine gentleman he is.
We had the camera with us at the car show but didn't take any pictures, there was a good variety of cars but nothing that really interested me enough to take any shots.

Hiball, it's nice to know someone else's locks were upside down! I agree with the face thing, I've seen Rich's mug a few times and now yours, so here's a pic yesterday with my "new friend" (hint; I don't have a mustache). I'm kind of hesitating about posting this but maybe this forum could have a separate section for mugshots with their cars, I'm sure others have opinions.
This was at the 1st Vancouver Classic Car auction which was a great show and shine but not so good auction, I guess in order to get the auction car count up they had to allow too many reserves which made for not many cars sold. We left a little early to catch a ferry but they were running late and hadn't got through the day's allotment of half the cars (approx. 120), did get to see a rare Dodge Hemi Charger go for 100K though. The money crowd wasn't there, they'll have trouble convincing owners to consign next year -if they have it. Lots of older clubs showing which was nice but only a few 57's.

Excellent picture, thanks for posting it, it is good to see a face. I haven't looked into the lock situation yet but I'm guessing they have the left and right sides reversed? I can't think of any reason to do this.

Yup, they're reversed, the actuating lever on them can also be reversed so that if someone didn't know which side was up they will still work. Rich had a good idea and there were some posts in the tech section, "springs again".

I heard the PNE signed a three year contract with Dueck Chevrolet, so at least two more. I think the green on green color was holding the price down on that Charger. Beautifully restored though.

Contract is good to know, I'm sure they'll work things out better. Hard the first time.

He's the real deal Rich. He was just wandering around looking at cars so I asked if I could get a picture with him. Seems like a nice guy. Of course, giving the camera to my wife means I now have a 1 second movie of him and me as well (at about 45 degrees LOL).

Thank you. The body work and paint was done by the previous owner, I wasn't that crazy about the combo but it's growing on me, I would have preferred all black. I'm slowly chipping away on the mechanical work which it need badly. It's no show car but it is making a good daily driver.
