I posted about my starter issue a while back. When I thought I had it sort it out it came back.  I think the real issue a sticking servo within the valve body.
So I help it crack as I kept cranking on it.

I found out when I put in a jig torque starter and then it proceeded to slip in DRIVE.

I dropped the pan for a band adjustment and found that the housing in the servo cracked.

So if anyone has a parts PAZ case Fordomatic.  Let me know.

I was asking on the hamb also, it felt like a sticking/ binding but I think either the band adjustment was too tight all along. Or the servo was sticking making it feel like it's locked.  But also could be it was not going into 1st when stopping to shut down.

I'll be headed for Ruidoso, New Mexico Friday. My favorite car show. 300 mile road trip (each way) with a car show at the end! Can it get any better? Yes it can!. This car show is at a Casino, on a lake surrounded by tall pines.
I can't sleep there due to breathing issues and almost 9,000 elevation, so I'll drive to Santa Rosa Friday night and do the last 2 hours early Saturday. Currently 20% chance of rain.
I can do this, I can do this, I, well, maybe

When I was 14 years old, I was amazed at how unintelligent my father was. By the time I turned 21, I was astounded at how much he had learned in the last 7 years!

oooooh! Sounds like I've got to do some research to make sure they can still do the show. A few years ago it was the fires that were the issue.

fires caused the flooding they are having.

Rich Muise I just talked to a friend from El Paso and they said Ruidoso is asking people to stay away as the city is unsafe right now.  I'd call and see about the casino.

well, sheeeeeeeetttt!!!!! I've been watching websites and weather channels, at least there was near 0% chance of rain Friday and Saturday.
Does your friend belong to the Early Iron car club from El Paso that puts on the show?
Thanks for that input..it would be a shame to drive 300 miles and be the only one there.

I called the Ruidoso c of c, and there are NO problems there. "Unsafe" conditions were back in July. So, the car show is on. I'll be leaving early tomorrow, and I'm planning on staying in Alamagordo Friday night because the altitude is only 4300 ft.

good news so I'm back to I wish I was home so I could come meet you and see your ride.  Mines stila work in progress and not being home is making it a lot longer than I wanted.

Went to the Ruidoso car show. Drove in on Friday. The car ran great, but ended up with a problem anyway. I drove about 100 miles on I-40 in NEW MEXICO. There were potholes the entire way. Nothing new, been that way for years. Most of the potholes are areas they've half-assed fixed previously, only worse now. By the time I got off I-40 in Santa Rosa, my steering wheel rotated 5 or 10 degrees to the right. I worried that something might be loose for the next few hours, but I arrived in Ruidoso early enough to find a lift available at a local tire alignment/repair shop. 2 mechanics and the owner looked at it on the lift for 45 minutes. He told me everything looked fine, nothing was loose, but apparently the potholes threw my alignment off. They got everything back to normal. He did tell me my F.R. caliper was leaking. Gotta get that checked out.
SOOOOOOOOOOO..if your heading thru NM on !40, try to spend as much time as possible in the passing lanes. Both directions are bad. I know that from a few months ago.
The show was great, the weather was a perfect fall day  in the mountains. Soooomany good looking women in that area. My breathing gave me a hard time. I had to stay at my car for 8 hours straight to keep hooked up to my oxygen. 8000ish ft elevation.
