I only found this out when I bought a new TV a few months ago, it's called a Smart TV and obviously smarter then me, the old one was 14 years old and a CRT. I had no idea that it could get Netflix until my son told me about it and set it up for us. I do like being able to watch shows commercial free. It also has things like Internet Explorer which I have no idea how to use..
LOL!!! Looks like we both some Tec Time.

Did you actually have 12 stations, we only had 6 and wished we had a couple more. lets not forget the UHF dial that received nothing but snow.

Our first TV was in 1951 and only got a few stations and no UHF. My dad worked for the company and got an employee discount. We only had rabbit ears. I think we were one of the first people to have one on our block..
Compare the prices then, as much as they are now for a similar size set, we had the $179 model

Jim, thanks for sharing that. I remember as a kid in the 60's we went to my friends grandmas house to watch batman in color, that was a big deal, Mark

I was the remote when I was a kid. Sears console model. Later, I remember the small B&W on top of the nonfunctional console. I also remember Chilly Billy Cardille out of Pittsburgh on channel 11 on Saturday nights.

rmk57

My dad in about 1964 put up an antenna on the highest tree in the neighbourhood and we could pickup maybe 5 channels. CBC was the most important because of hockey night in Canada every Saturday night. Every so often if the weather was right you could pick up KING (ABC) from Seattle and watch Bonanza, Gunsmoke, .......as kids we didn't need a lot of tv we were always outside playing.

I think our family was one of the last on the planet to get color, somewhere around 1966-67 :005: My folks didn't believe in upgrades, things only got replaced when they didn't work anymore.
