the 58's had dog dish with the center being gold..

   That's the reason I took these gold dog dish caps off the right side of my car.
   It's too bad because they were in much better condition than the ones that I put on to replace them.

When I brought up that subject a few weeks ago about unpainted dog dish hubcaps, more than one of the guys on the site said that they used to do it back in the day with paint remover.

The caps on the Ranchero are 1955, 55 red cap 56 white cap.
