We have spoken a few times here on Bob Dixon's 57 Ford Race Car.Bob is out of the Windsor area(beside Detroit) and I spoke with him yesterday.Super nice fella. This is the car he raced in the very early 60's.He has restored it back to what it was.His brother has found his 57 ranchero that was run at the same time and is(from what I am told) Identical in build as Bob's car.
I called Bob as I invited him to a car show that 2 fellows and myself are doing up here this summer(god help us!)
Any how,Bob may attend and cackle the car at our event.
His brother's Ranchero was found in Barrie about an hour from where i live.Hey! HotrodDonnie?,you ever see a race 57 Ranchero in your hood?
Here are some pics.

He's got the King Kong of all Ford engines in there that's for sure!
I also like the way front end slides out and tilts, must save messing up the paint on the fenders.

That sliding feature was the first thing I noticed....I'm surprised I hadn't seen it done before...probably has, I just haven't seen it. That's awesome they were able to find the other family car after all the years.
I can do this, I can do this, I, well, maybe

The slidey thing was the first thing you noticed??? Not the injected cammer sitting there ready to bite anyone who gets too close??? :003:

Junior58   I'm in the same boat with Rich.   That slider assembly is the first thing that I noticed also.  Then after that, I started to dig on the engine.

Not too many 57 Fords in my hood Jeff, unless its hiding in someones garage. Amazing what you see when your neighbour opens his garage door for the first time in 20 years! HRD

Man, I'd like to hear that thing run - any video clips anywhere that anyone knows of?

I like just about everything this car has, but,... I can't see any front brakes..When I got my 1st ranchero in 69, someone had pinched off the rear brakes. Didn't take me long to find that mod and change it back.

Tell ya what fellas,If Bob attends our show,I will get a vid clip of this angry beast, and the slideeee thing! hahahaha

   Jeff.. That's not good enough.
I would rather You go to his house and make the video just in case he does not come to your show.
And secondly, do the clip of the slideeee thing first, then the angry beast in that order..
You can only please some of the people some of the time.   HAHAHAHA!

Sorry, I noticed the Cammer first too.  Not too much of a gizmo or gimmick geek, but I sure do understand horsepower, and the 427 has it in spades.  Very impressive.  And the slidey thing is neat too, but I'm not much for tilt front ends, too much hassle any way you slice it.  That car and the Ranchero are incredibly awesome cars, love them both.
