That car looks and sounds great.

Zapato

How loud is it in the car at hi-way speeds ? Sounds great at idle does it tone down or get uncomfortable ?

well when you are riding down the road you here alot of tailpipe noise but no loud roaring inside pretty comfortable. If they were to loud inside I certainly would not have them.

Zapato

good to know, always ask have ridden in cars that the drone was unbearable inside the car but sounded sweet  going by.

I had found this vid on youttube before and have been a fan ever since. awesome romping Y. Helped my decision to replace the 351 with a proper built Y block. two tone green/gold anodized 300s are among the most beautiful 57 color combos ever available!

IMHO...There is nothing like the sweet  sound  of a well built Y block.  It's  too bad that I hardly ever get to see many of them at the cruises that I go to.

ricky knight

yea not many around but the best part about it is when you pull in a cruise somewhere and folks ask you what it is they wont believe you until you finally raise the hood about 30 minutes later.

Nice to see this on here!

I hope I was responsible for pointing  this group out with my comment under the video about 4 months ago!

Badass...never heard a Y-block sound like that!

I just want to comment on that neat looking FE air cleaner that you have on  your Y block.  It looks like it was put on there from the factory.  I'm going to have to keep my eyes open for one of those.  Jay

Thanks thats what I was going for when I put this setup together. It also has 427 linkage and fuel log. I know its not correct y block but I wanted to make it look like it would have come from Ford that way.

Well with those OEM parts, you certainly did manage to make the way you wanted it to look and it has my stamp of approval.  Most likely as soon as I fix up one of those air cleaners, I fall into the correct one for my car buried under a pile of junk under someone's work bench.  It doesn't cost anything to dream.

ricky knight

Yep I have had that same dream and when I started pricing y block 2x4 parts suddenly it wasnt a dream anymore it was a nigBetter have some deep pockets when you mess with y block hipo parts.
