I just received a Burtex Trunk Mat I ordered from a good aftermarket company in Concord N.C. , I am not real happy with it. it has a fuzzy backing ,I would like to have one with a (rubber ?) back like the original . This is for a 57 Custom 300. Does anyone know where to get one like the original?

I've dealt with Macs Auto Parts, not sure if the trunk mats are any better. HRD

The mat you received is as close to original as you can find, The original Burtex backing is not environmentally friendlily, and can no longer be made. I used to supply the major vendors with the trunk mats. This is how I know. That mat is accepted in any concourse judging. Hope this helps Tom

My 57 has a mat like you describe. It's more of a greenish tint to it than deep gray that I like. My 63 has a mat from Dearborn that costs a whole lot more but it's rubber backed, thick and is a darker grey that I like. I swear after I put it in I felt the springs give a little. Lays flat, it's so heavy it has too. Maybe they make one for 57's. If you use yours quiet a bit the design gets wiped out in places on the fuzzy backed ones.
