Looking for your input on what gears to run in my wagon with mild build, auto trans with 3K stall convertor. I don't have OD so what do you guy's think?

Thanks
in advance

a 3000 stall converter is alil steep for a mild street car, but alot of factors apply here. but for starters i always liked 3:25 -3:55 and if theres enough motor to pull em 3:70's.but even at that i'd stay with a 2500 convertor

I ran 4.11s in my last Custom...not that bad, really.

I run 355's on the street. From my experience on the freeway the lower gears
cause the engine to build more heat, plus the RPM's make it noisey. It takes more
motor to pull high gears not lower gears.. the converter will stall more with more
engine torque, the less torque the less stall. I run a 10" converter on the street, it's
fun with a lot of cubic inches. I am careful going up grades not to ley in it and build
heat. A heat guage would be good in a perfect world. I've run these things along time,
so I sorta think I know what's safe. At least I hope so :003:
I hope it works for you. I hope this helps.

johns2000,  Friends running medium riser 427 with 2800 converter/ C-6 trans and 3:50's in rear, cruises freeway at 70 mph without stressing the tach. Not bad for street gear either but can make it up with motor against most lower geared cars. Skip :006:
