352? Please school me.

    The truth of the matter is that the 352 with those adjustable noisy rockers is just plain junk.   And don't forget that it has those ugly old fashion rocker covers and an ugly looking generator bracket.  Who uses one of those things these days?   
     You should go back and get  the 428 and the next time you come by here bring the 352 and I'll take it off your hands.  Don't worry about how to get it off the truck.  I have an engine hoist. 
     FWIW I have a 406 crank if you  need one.

I wouldn't rule out a stroker kit. 447 ci 390 or a 462 ci 428 would be a walk in the park to get 450hp, especially with e-brock heads.
I personally wouldn't mess around with 50 year old connecting rods with an engine you may want to lean on once in a while.

Next to a sweet running yblock, a solid lifter FE is about the most beautiful sounding engine going IMHO.
