I want to let all of you know about an accident that happened yesterday and took a fellow Austrian Hot Rodder's life (43yrs old).
It is reported that he was out for a test drive without having seats in the car.
So please everybody be careful when working on, or testdriving your vintage collector car or Hot Rod. they are still dangerous and complex machines and can and will cause death if not properly used.
How many times have I seen misaligned or not working gear shifters, bad brakes, rubbing tires, hazardous wiring or bench seats fastened with only 2 bolts.
Please all take care and check your cars thoroughly and frequently !

RIP Andi (leaving behind a family with 3 kids) !

Always bad when another enthusiast loses a life, especially at the wheel of their pride & joy.  We all think we're invincible, but sadly we aren't, it is so tempting to take risks with cars (just doing a quick bit of welding without using a proper mask, quickly having a look under the car when it's only supported on a jack without axle stands, etc, etc).

It isn't worth the risk, if you have a slight suspicion something isn't safe, it probably isn't, don't take the risk, a few more minutes are a few minutes well spent.

So sorry to hear that about your fellow Austrian. I'll say a little prayer for him and his family over here. I had a buddy of mine meet an untimely death not long ago. Couple young guys had just changed out the engine in a pickup and took it for a test drive on a busy two lane road. They pulled out to pass a long line of traffic and nailed my buddy head on. Nobody survived. Easy to get over excited once you get everything running. So sad...
