The first time I installed a 460 with OEM manifolds, I ground the exhaust manifold to get 1/4" clearance.  I drove it just one summer before headers went in.  I was told a left CJ manifold would work better.  I couldn't find one laying around to prove it.  I got some improved clearance by shimming the right engine mount.  If OEM 460 mounts were used, substitute the rivet for a bolt.  Tightening the bolt will restrict the engine movement.

Great deal, Jeff !!!
I'd rather cry to think of the second car being a donor car, speaking from their availability here in Europe. it definitely has a ton of good parts. The main car is great too! Wow!
ask Jay if you should tear it all down and make a frame off project......you should do just that.....hahaha......  ;):003:

First one I did with a 460 I ground the steering box cover, slotted the motor mounts and got about 3/8 inch clearance.  From the start I dont think you could get a rolling paper between the steering box/ header tube.

If you tear that car all down as you stated, you are going to get a beating.   Just fix what needs fixing and  get into it and drive it like  you stole it.   You ain't got the time to put into another loooong frame off project.
    We need to talk.   Jay

ALERT!!!!!!!!!  Jeff is 'in country' sledding his way to Iowa to pickup the donor car.  Keep an ear out in case he needs a hand.  Looking for 10" of snow on some of his route.  It never seems to fail whenever I do a road trip with a trailer to pick up a car, the weather does not cooperate.  If you need help, just ask.

I SAW THAT ONE!!! I wished I had the fluid cash at the time or else I would have grabbed it too.  Glad to hear it was a good car for a great price!
