Will a magneto clear my firewall?

I am going really traditional with my 330" y block, edelbrock 573 3x2 with Strombergs. Does anyone know if a magneto (Joe hunt -not the fake magneto look alike) will clear the firewall seam? I have read that some of the MSD distributors will not clear the cap.
