Need help identifying accelerator pedal

My question relates to a 1959 Ford but I'm hoping a knowledgable Ford person on this board might be able to help.

I purchased an accelerator pedal for my '59 Ford Custom 300 from one of the big old Ford catalog companies and it doesn't fit my car. I believe my car may been modified and I need help identifying the accelerator pedal that was used so I can find the proper replacement.

When I removed the old mat I noticed a welding bead around the old pedal which is hinged to the floor. The shop manual does not show any hinge so I believe my car may have been modified. The old pedal face looks exactly like the face of the replacement '59 Ford pedal but the old pedal is molded to a piece of flat metal that is hinged to another piece of metal that is bolted to the floor with 3 bolts. The top of the old pedal is linked to the accelerator rod with a pin. The old pedal appears to have the FOMoCo oval molded into the rubber and there is a part number on it but I cannot read all of it. It appears to be: OG1AJ(or U) 9735-(1?) followed by a backwards C. I have posted some photos in a FOTKI album-

I suspect this hinged pedal came out of another Ford product- maybe a different year, model or make or even a truck. If anyone can help identify what it is I would appreciate the help.

Thanks.
