When I was fourteen years old, I was amazed at how unintelligent my father was. By the time I turned twenty-one, I was astounded at how much he had learned in the last seven years!

There were on the south end of Oroville. From I could see and remember on Google earth it was on Highway 97 and Bob Neil road. There are still a few old cars out front sale it looks like ...
Could this be the place where all the cars are parked along Hwy 97?
The second pic is the street view pic looking southeast on 97 just because it shows the Mercury at the end of the row.  Pic is actually labeled as being from 2008, not the 2019 that shows on all of these. It's just too fuzzy to read any of the business signs.

She is already more than aware of my addiction I fear. I once bought a car (my'84 SVO Mustang) and kept it hidden in my shop for a couple of moths without telling her. And I lived to tell about it! LOL!!!

Yup, that looks lke the place. I thought it was auto parts store but looks to be more of a heavy equipment repair? This time of the year I would expect less than ideal driving conditions. In the summer it's a beautiful drive.

I love google earth, particularly street view. I go on many roadtrips without leaving my computer.
I can do this, I can do this, I, well, maybe

These first generation Econolines weren't very good.  In high school I had a job as a stock boy for a locally owned drug & variety store. Everyday I loaded up & delivered supplies from the main store to the 4 other stores in town in one of these things.
They had just about zero traction in the snow.  But it did convince me that I wanted a van & a few years later was able to get the much better second generation Econoline. Used for many years as a daily driver, motorcycle, & whatever else, hauler & camping rig.  I have several now in various states & need to get one of them fixed up like my 2nd one was.  If I could only have one vehicle it probably would be a 2nd gen Econoline or something very much like it. A very versatile do-everything vehicle. Any of you guys ever have an Econoline van?
A couple pix of 1st gens.

not exactly an Econoline, but a 1st generation Ford van as well! My trusted cargo van of 15 years, a German built 1964 Ford FK1250 (1250kg =1-1/4 metric tons cargo). Former fire engine, og paint, matching #, now about 30.000 original miles, about 10.000 put on by me. it is about the size of a VW Kombi, but it is NOT a VW  :002: Ford FK1250 Transit has watercooled L4 front engine and rear drive.

and a few of my 57s in the mix. :003:

That's 2755 pounds avoirdupois, our 1.378 tons. I wonder if that the weight of that little van.  I doubt it could be the payload capacity but it might even be the total of it's weight & it's total 'allowed maximin' payload weight.  :dontknow:
Sometimes the way factories determine & publish the specs on  some of that weight & payload stuff can be a bit confusing.
Edit: Corrected my dumb '2755 lbs = 2.775 tons' mistake. 2000 Lbs is one ton.

hello, I drove what I remember was a 1963 ford Econoline, I put a 289 in when the 6 cylinder quit.. this is in San Diego,1974.. While I'm at it the car I drove at that time also with a 289-4 speed and a little more power!!
