:003:.... Thanks guys, but all I do is repeat things, lol.

When I was fourteen years old, I was amazed at how unintelligent my father was. By the time I turned twenty-one, I was astounded at how much he had learned in the last seven years!

THAT is what a teacher does...LOL!!! Repeat and educate. Only difference is...YOU...aren't giving us pop quizzes or tests with 20 questions of multiple choice or essay answers!   whew!

Took this at Irwindale around 1969? I'm not sure if the Cougar funny car was even Ford powered, but back in that era most Ford bodied funny cars did have a cammer under the hood.
I got to race at this track in around 1976 in my Boss 302 on a Wednesday night grudge race. Made one pass in the high 14's and second pass I broke or lost the clutch adjustment rod.
I was pushed off the track and left it there for the night. Nice thing back then is you could go to your local Ford dealer and buy the part you needed. Downey Ford had it in stock, so a trip back to the track on Thursday and I was off in an hour.

wow Joe! those brandnew 57s....out of 5 cars 3 appear to be silver mocha....so pretty ! the solid silver mocha 4dr HT appears to have a red interior? what a striking color combo. everybody that has ever seen or mixed silver mocha in person will know that there is a lot of red in that brownish metalic paint.

Re: #3616, wonder why all the mirrors are turned up on end?

That is probably the way they had to be to get screwed into the bracket. Nice observation.

Ah the good days...when a lovely lass would help you with things like washing your car...just so she could be around you.
Today...eh...not so much. I miss the old ways!

You read my mind. Then I thought maybe it was a staged pic of some sort. Sure couldn't sit on one of today's fenders like that...unless you had money for body shop work!
