At the studio where i worked and these gentleman did as well... it was closing...I saw MOUNTAINS of art thrown away and in 3 massive dumpsters..all destined for the landfill site. They had a security guard  in front, so nobody would take anything.... I worked late and waited until he had a coffee break and did a 10 minute dumpster dive... grabbing what I could.Next day.. all was gone
If your lucky enough to have original Advertising Automotive art(or any Old Ad art from the 70's and down.)..... it's worth a fortune.
I have seen paintings go as high as 20-50K...... usually around the 5-15k mark.. but it depends who didi it.

I have about 10 pieces i saved that night..... Glad i did.(none of the images below)

It's truly amazing that Ford had 23 automotive models available to the public in 57.... that does not include Mercury or the Ford Truck division.
No Automotive car company ever did that....... and no one ever did it since 57.
Ford employed a vast array of people....... think about all the literature ,manuals,etc,etc.... mind boggling.

Jeff, those are terrific brochures and artwork. I am so dedicated to those old ads, I have amassed a huge collection of 57 Ford stuff, some even in French, German or Dutch. The artwork is absolutely fantastic, and much nicer than mid 60s stuff, IMHO. It's incredible how the rednwhite Skyliner just POPS out of the ad or that raven black/ inca gold Fairline 500...it's nicer than real. the wagon brochure is fantastic, in layout as well. it features a fold out that shows a country Squire.
It definitely would be a nearly a lost art, if it wasn't for guys like you keeping up the trade, even if it is only fiction.
We need to put this in here, since it is an old Ford pic and brochure and art all the same. your artwork is stunning to say the least, Jeff.
WOW !
what do you other guys think about that ?

Ahhhh.... your much too kind G.......Thank you.....
The Royal Victoria was built by a pal Mark Skipper in California..... very nice guy and his wife Kelly is a sweetheart.
That rendering above was a fast turnaround... but i gave it to them as a surprise for the debut at the GNRS.

Your way to kind G.

A man I bought my first 57 off of was Larry Grillet in Texas.... Larry had the biggest collection of 56 fords and was the President of the 56 Ford Club of America.. anyhow.... He wanted a piece of art and since he had 2 or 3 large warehouses in his town... he wanted an image of one  his cars.....(he had so many cars) I think Rich went to his auction.... anyhow..I did up a billboard ad for one of his showrooms....I think he had it printed at about 20 feet long(or so I heard)
After Larry's passing...I wondered where it went.

who wouldn't want that on the wall actually next to the original ! wow !
we have to admit that 56 Fords do look great as well. very streamlined. the color combo is a charme, especially on a 2dr HT.

the Skipper's 51 Victoria is one of my alltime favorite shoebox Fords. Incredibly balanced and still carries all the details of a true iconic 1950s Custom. It wouldn't look out of place sitting next to Sam Barris 49 Merc or Calori's 36 Ford3w.

And the ad just makes you want to go out and buy a new one...hahaha....

Just for the other guys, to let you know this is not only a dream car out of Jeffs mind, it was actually built that way. Here's the real thing.

That '51 is my favorite shoebox ever. Yes, Jeff I was at Grillet's auction. As you know, Larry had his own little village of collector cars, parts, work shops, etc etc. Very sad to see it all dispersed. I just drove by where his old dealership showroom was a few months ago, and there's still some '56s in there.
Jeff:............DJ wasn't being too kind at all. You have not only mastered what your mentors taught you, you've mastered bringing that craftsmanship into the computer age. You have something other artists will never have. They just don't know, and worse, they just don't know what they don't know. I can relate to your background, we have alot in common as you know....I'm French Canadian, was taught my (machine shop) trade by the old craftsmen and brought that into the computer world, and 23 years in the art business.
Those brochres you posted are great btw.
Question: when you do a rendering, like Grillet's or Skipper's for example, do you retain the rights to reproduce and sell, or does that vary from job to job, and do you sell reproductions?
I can do this, I can do this, I, well, maybe

Jeff Norwell

thanks Rich.. your very kind.
