With the season right around the corner, I got to thinking this is a topic rarely brought up here, which strikes me as odd since this is why we build cars, right? I've already done 2 '57 roadtrips this year. One in January for a cruise-in in Nacona, Tx, and the second to the Starbird show in Tulsa, Ok. My next one may be to the Goodguys show in Fort Worth on the 13-15 March. After that, I'm not sure. I need to check on the Park in the Park show in Rio Rancho,NM, I think in April, but haven't found anything yet......Eric? got any info? got it: April 25th
After that my only for sures are July 4 in Santa Fe and later in July for the Thin Air Nationals in Green Mountain Falls, Co.
So where are you planning?

BTW, if any of you are passing thru Amarillo on the first Saturday of the month, weather permitting, there is a cruise-in at the corner of Hillside and Bell. Good weather may see as many as 80-100 cars. Late afternoon
I can do this, I can do this, I, well, maybe

x2! I flew to the FE Race&Reunion in 2018, had a blast. I am making plans to drive to Beaver Springs PA, from Vancouver BC Canada this April, about 40 hours one way. Hope to hit the Henry Ford Museum in Detroit on the way.

I may just make down to Amarillo after I hang up the snowmobiles for the season. With the weather we've had, I haven't even ventured across town. I'm really thinking about driving up to the Back to the 50s show at the Minnesota state fair ground in June.

Detroit Autorama (may need the T with tracks to get there), Hot Rod Power Tour, Goodguys Columbus, Old 27 Tour, Duck Tail Run/James Dean Reunion, Auburn Car Auction, Dream Cruise, Gilmore Museum.  And everyday to a show somewhere...I have Authentic Plates so I am always going to a show, an event, a parade, a car wash, a gas station, or getting some kind of service estimate.

Les, Sounds like we'll have multiple opportunities to get together again this summer. I know you've got family in Lubbock, but you and Kelly are always welcome to stay with us, and our dogs like company too if you travel with them.
I'd also like to do the Abbey show in Canon City and maybe Alamosa, and Woodland Park/Cripple Creek. Trying to figure out how to do all this and save money for a really long '57 roadtrip to Florida to see friends and family there. First and hardest step is to stay out of the casinos that somehow are always near the shows and roadtrips I like, lol.

59 Meteor,
Are you bringing your race car or driving to see stuff along the way?
I'll be in the Airstream trailer, stop on by.

Ron, we are looking to retire from the West Coast of Canada, so I plan to drive to Beaver Springs, since its "kinda" on the way to Nova Scotia. From Vancouver BC to Halifax is a mere 5960 Kilometers (3725 miles) one way, so stopping in at Beaver Springs is only about a 42 hour , 2836 mile drive. Then after the FE race, its just another 17 hours to get to Halifax NS. So I will just make the trip in my 4 cylinder Ford Ranger. Good news is, from Halifax , going to Beaver Springs the next year is 973 miles each way, rather than the 2836 miles Home currently is. Good thing my tow vehicle can squeeze 8 miles per gallon!

Kerby, I'll have to let you know closer to the show date........I'm leaning at this point to not putting the '57 in. I'm trying to save for a long '57 trip to Florida, and goodguys gets expensive...gas, food, motel for 2 nights in that area is 120+ per night, 90. reg. fee if you re-up your membership, etc etc.
When I did the show before, I've always parked in the first main area on the left as you come up from the track underpass.
Are you bringing your '57?

West coast...Tampa and south. My son, old school friend, and my ex wife live in Tampa area, have a sister about an hour south in Venice and another old friend from Colorado in Punta Gorda. My brother-in-law was a mechanic, and my go-to guy when I was young, didn't know anything, and needed cars fixed. I'd sure like him to see what I've built. He and his brother had a Sunoco station/repair shop in Waltham, Mass. They both retired millionaires. You had to make an appointment weeks in advance to get your car in their shop. 40+ yeaqrs of greasy hard work paid off!
It'll have to be spring or fall, I couldn't handle the heat and humidity of the summer there now in my old age. I'd like to do a car show or two while I'm there, I'm told thery're a daily event in Florida.
Lynn, on my way there I'd sure like to stop and have a cup of coffee with you.....it's right on my way!
I can do this, I can do this, I, well, maybe

Rich, I'm not taking the 57. I haven't been in a couple of years and decided to go this year. Keep my cell number and if you decide to go let me know and I'll look for you. I wanted to hit the swap meet and savor the surroundings.
