Good day everyone.  I am new userid (2 days) to this site, however I have been reading posts for the past couple years.  I own a '57 colonial white Tbird still in nearly original condition (documented ownership since 1961 -2nd owner). I purchased it in 2014 - Love the car and drive it as much as I can.  I will post pics soon.  To memorialize the "Tbird's journey", I created a 60 min video for the 2nd owner as a tribute since his wife and children practically grew up in the car.

I did not plan it this way, but as the second grandson came along, I had a thought......the Tbird would go to the 1st grandson.....but now I needed to find a car for the second grandson.  Hence....the addition of the Fairlane 500.  I purchased it in 2016 from some great folks in Statesville, NC - their mother/father owned the car for 40 years.....passed away in mid 2000's.....and decided to sell the car on Craigslist.  From their knowledge the car was never wrecked......but did not know the owners from 1957 to mid 1970's.   Body looked great......it started....and the price was right.  I just happened to be in Charlotte working for a couple weeks....purchased it an now it's in Michigan.

For the past 5 years the car sat in a friend?s farm shed.  In December 2019 I semi-retired.....so began the partial restoration in January 2020.

My next few posts will include some pictures of the Fairlane 500 and and update as to what we have done thus far.

I humbly welcome your advice and expertise.....and constructive criticism (I can take it and need the contrarian views).

One last thought on this post.   Since purchasing the Fairlane for the second grandson.......we welcomed our 3rd grandchild to the family - a grand-daughter.     Will need to start thinking about a '57 for her in the near future after the Fairlane gets done.......any suggestions?

Welcome to the forum. Looking forward to pics and hearing plans for the car. We have just about everything covered here, factory restorations, restomods, racing, etc. Good chance whatever you're planning has been done by someone here. We love pics and stories/history of member cars!

Welcome to the insane asylum for '57 lovers. As Rich said...we all love the pics...and  believe me when I say that if you run into a wall with some aspect of a project, someone here has already figured out how to knock a drive-through hole in it.   :006:

Welcome aboard JBay, as stated we all love car porn and look forward to seeing your project.
Lots of knowledgeable people here, many who have been playing with these rides for many, many years, so you came to the right place!

P.S. Not sure if you noticed, but for some reason if you copy and paste anything with apostrophes or quotations to this board, it changes them to question marks. It's kind of a pain in the ass,  but can be corrected, you just have to go back and edit your post.
When I was fourteen years old, I was amazed at how unintelligent my father was. By the time I turned twenty-one, I was astounded at how much he had learned in the last seven years!

Here is a pic of the 1957 Tbird.  She runs perfectly and has not been modified/enhanced.....love cruising around.  For reference purposes, I have every copy of the CTCI Tbird Magazine.

Here is a pic of the 1957 Fairlane - as I found it for sale in NC.  More info and stories to come soon on what I have done so far and what I plan to do (with your help).
